MSP vs MSSP: What's the difference?

Managed Security Services and Managed IT Services are similar in that they are both generally offered as a monthly subscription plan, but similarities generally stop there. Managed IT Service plans generally offer a more blanket approach to your IT systems and environment, with the main focus being to take over the burden of managing your technology and systems, provide assistance when technical difficulties occur, and proactively monitor your IT environment to ensure your business is running as smoothly as possible.

Managed Security Services, on the other hand, focusses entirely on the security aspect of your devices, information, data and systems. Common services include vulnerability scanning, threat detection and mitigation, antivirus and malware protection, dark web monitoring and more.
